For many years she was happily married to one Dario Macao, and together they had a son - Raoul. However, Dario was not a well man and started showing signs of Schizophrenia. Aranaya stood by him, believing she was safe, until he became obsessed with Raoul, convinced the child was not his, but indeed the result of a demon fornicating with his wife. His unhealthy obsession grew and he was committed, only to somehow manage to escape and scale the high wall to come after his wife and son.

During the conflict, Raoul was fatally injured and Aranaya barely escaped with her life. In an effort to leave her past and misery behind, Aranaya fled cities, finally settling in Evergreen Terrace, with the intent of making a new life for herself.
